As we near the end of the year I wanted to connect with you.  Thank you for being interested in reading what I am up to and what I have to say.  I hope your Holiday season is fulfilling and full of the abundance you desire this year.

In 2018 I have gotten clearer on where I want to focus my time and energy.  It is hard to believe that I left my corporate job 12 years ago!  A lot has happened in that time.  Just like you I bet, I have faced challenges, heartaches, successes, inspiration and the mundane of everyday life.

I have gotten clearer that my work is with women and girls.  Having worked in the business world for so many years, I got pretty good at understanding how the business game works, and how it is designed mostly by “boys rules.”  Having worked in many large corporations across different industries, those rules were the common thread.  I had to play by those rules for a long time, and I am grateful I don’t anymore.  With the freedom to be on my own, comes the responsibility to do something that makes a positive impact.

I have a middle school aged daughter and am not heartened about the myriad of challenges our youth face today. I am lucky enough to get to work with some amazing young women through the Girls Rule Foundation where I co-mentor four young ladies. These girls are truly amazing and up to great things in the world and it makes my heart sing to be able to get to know and support them and their dreams. Yet, there are just as many girls out there that are struggling to make their way, to know their worth and allow their brilliance and beauty to shine in a culture that often sends them conflicting messages.  Women and girls are taught to be nice, to be pretty and often to be quiet.  To excel, but not too much.  To worry about how long their eyelashes are, how large their breasts are and how beautiful and sexy they are.  In my eyes, these are cultural distractions that keep them from being their best selves.

We are also in an amazing time where the grown-up girls are finally rallying to share their stories of mistreatment and the responsible men are facing consequences.  The silence has finally been broken.  It is good to see accountability starting to come for bad behavior that has been allowed & overlooked for a long, long time.

As a leadership coach, I know that when women decide to step into their power, they are amazing and unstoppable, and I see this happening all around me.  It is my mission to develop world changing women; helping them move from being overwhelmed by busy-ness, to leading fulfilling careers and lives with fewer limits.  I work with professional women leaders.  I want to see women at the highest levels in business succeed & thrive.  As big business has such key influence in America and globally, more women need to be at their best on the inside and at the top making decisions that are more about people, profit and the planet, not only profit.  If that is you, let’s talk. https://www.loriseverson.net/contact-lori-severson/
